📚 Let’s Make Every Day Count! 📚

The Kentucky Directors of Pupil Personnel have designated Wednesday, September 9, as High Attendance Day—a day dedicated to highlighting the importance of students being present, engaged, and ready to learn each day. High Attendance Day kicks off Attendance Awareness Month.

Each school day is an opportunity to learn, grow, connect, and succeed. Studies have shown that showing up for class has a huge impact on academic success. Let’s make September 9 a great day to show up and shine! 🌟

The Kentucky Department of Education’s “You Belong! Attendance Matters” campaign provides tips and resources for families, educators, and communities to support consistent attendance.

Your presence powers our progress! 💪 Attendance Matters!

📚 A BOOK. EVERY MONTH. RIGHT TO YOUR DOOR. ❤️

Did you know that Webster County children from birth through age 5 can receive a FREE, age-appropriate book every month through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library?

It’s more than a book—it’s an opportunity to build a home library, encourage a love of reading, and help our youngest learners get ready for kindergarten.

Dolly Parton had a simple but powerful vision: put books into children's hands and homes. We are grateful that her dream has reached Webster County, Kentucky, and we're proud to be part of it!

Webster County partnered with the Imagination Library in 2008. Today, 385 Webster County children receive books, and 1,223 children have already graduated from the program!

Is your child enrolled? If not, now is a great time to sign up!
👉 Mail the completed enrollment form to Rachel Gooch, Providence ELS, 470 S. Broadway, Providence, KY 42450.

Thank you, Dolly, for believing that every child deserves a book. 📖 🫶

Strong Roots. Safe Schools.

The Kentucky Center for School Safety (KCSS) is excited to announce that the theme for Kentucky Safe Schools Week is "Strong Roots. Safe Schools," scheduled for September 14-18, 2026. This year's theme highlights the need for ongoing vigilance and proactive steps to keep learning environments secure across the Commonwealth.

This week focuses on helping schools strengthen their safety initiatives through targeted activities and discussions. The goal is to raise awareness of various aspects of school safety and empower students, teachers, parents, guardians, and the wider community to take proactive steps to create a safe and nurturing learning environment for everyone.
